In accordance with the decision published in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Erdoğan, childbirth support will be provided for children born this year and beyond if an application is made.

Childbirth support, which will be valid for children born during the 2025 Family Year to increase the declining rate of the young population in Turkey, will be officially implemented from January 1, 2025, and beyond.

A one-time payment of 5,000 TL will be provided for the first child, a monthly payment of 1,500 TL until the child reaches 5 years of age (including the sixtieth month) for the second child, and a monthly payment of 5,000 TL until the child reaches 5 years of age (including the sixtieth month) for the third and subsequent children from the month of application.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will have the authority to increase these amounts. The payments will be made from the Social Solidarity and Assistance Fund. Childbirth support will be paid without any tax deductions and will not be subject to garnishment. If false declarations are made by the beneficiaries of childbirth support, resulting in undue payments, the overpaid amount will be refunded with interest calculated at the late payment rate specified in Article 51 of Law No. 6183, taking into account the period from the date of payment to the date of recovery, and will be notified in writing by the institution making the payment to the unjustly benefiting individual. If the payment is not made within this period, these receivables will be reported to the relevant tax office for follow-up and collection in accordance with the provisions of the mentioned Law.

HOW TO APPLY FOR CHILD BIRTH SUPPORT? Childbirth Support applications are made in person, by registered mail, or by cargo after the child is registered in the Population Registry System (KPS) of the child at the relevant population directorate following a live birth, the “Childbirth Support Application Form” is filled out completely and signed. Applications are made to Family and Social Services Provincial Directorates or Social Service Centers. Regardless of their status (including those employed through service procurement), employees of public institutions apply to the institution where they work. Applications from those living abroad are received by Embassies and Consulates. If those living abroad are in Turkey, they can apply to any Family and Social Services Provincial Directorate or Social Service Center.
