The obstruction of aid deliveries by Israel is further complicating the situation for Palestinians. In the Sheikh Ridwan neighborhood market in the northwest of Gaza City, Palestinians were seen buying fruits and vegetables by quantity instead of by weight due to their financial constraints. On March 2, Israel halted the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip as part of pressuring Hamas following the end of the first phase of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement. This move has sparked widespread international criticism against the Tel Aviv administration. United Nations Secretary-General spokesperson Stephane Dujarric announced on Monday that Israel’s decision had caused food prices in Gaza to increase by 100 times.
