Panic in Iceland as Volcano Erupts: Tourist Area Evacuated

Due to volcanic activity in southwest Iceland, the tourist area of Blue Lagoon has been evacuated. According to RUV, Iceland’s broadcasting corporation, seismic activity occurred in the Grindavik town at 06:30 local time, leading to concerns that it could trigger a volcanic eruption. More than 200 earthquakes have been recorded in the region since the seismic activity began, prompting the evacuation of the Blue Lagoon tourist area.
