Patients Connected to Devices at Home Exempt from New Electricity Tariff

Residences where patients living with electric devices due to health issues reside will be exempt from the new tariff that came into effect on February 1st regarding electricity.
Subscribers with patients connected to devices at home due to health issues will not be affected by the regulation as long as they present a valid health report to the electricity distribution company they are connected to. According to the new tariff on electricity bills, groups exceeding 417 kilowatt-hours monthly and a total of 5,000 kilowatt-hours annually will start paying the actual cost as of February 1st, 2024. 40 MILLION BILLS WILL NOT CHANGE
97% of electricity subscribers will not be affected by the regulation. Approximately 40 million out of 42 million electricity subscribers will not see any changes in their bills. On the other hand, mosques, cemevi (Alevi worship house), families of martyrs, veterans, agricultural activities, village drinking water supplies, temporary shelters by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), associations, and subscribers connected to devices due to health issues will be exempt from the regulation. DISTRIBUTION COMPANIES WILL REMIND THE RENEWAL OF HEALTH REPORT 20 DAYS BEFORE
Consumers connected to devices due to health issues will continue to have the limit included in the last resort tariff applied annually at 100 million kilowatt-hours as before. Electricity distribution companies will process the applications of consumers dependent on dialysis support units, respiratory devices, and similar life support devices through written applications and with supporting documents. Companies will also remind subscribers benefiting from this exception to renew their health reports 20 days before they expire. In planned power outages, these consumers will be informed first by the electricity distribution companies through the communication method specified by the consumer.
