Payment Date for Salary Differences (SSK – Bağkur): When will salary differences be paid, has the date for the payment of retiree salary differences been determined?
Salary differences continue to be one of the main agenda items for retirees. As of January 2025, the minimum retirement pension was increased from 12,500 TL to 14,469 TL. The necessary legal regulation for this increase to take effect was approved in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, published in the Official Gazette, and thus finalized. Following this development, retirees are curious about when their salary differences will be deposited into their accounts. Retirees are following the official announcements of the Social Security Institution (SGK) and the statements of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security to learn the date when salary differences will be deposited into their accounts. So, when will salary differences be paid, has the date for the payment of retiree salary differences been determined? Developments regarding the date of payment for the 2025 retiree salary differences continue to be an issue of research. The necessary legal regulation for the implemented salary increase was approved in the Assembly General Assembly in the past days and published in the Official Gazette. Following this development, millions of retirees are wondering when the salary difference payments will be deposited into their accounts. An official announcement regarding the payment schedule to be determined by the Social Security Institution (SGK) is expected to be made in the coming days. The lowest retirement pension has increased from 12,500 TL to 14,469 TL as of 2025. In this context, retirees receiving base salary will receive an additional payment of 1,969 TL, the difference between 14,469 TL and 12,500 TL. Salary difference payments for the first 14 days of January were paid in the first week of February last year. This year also, it is expected that the January retiree salary differences will be deposited into accounts of retirees by the second week of February. SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees have earned an inflation difference of 3.32% for July, 2.47% for August, 2.97% for September, 2.88% for October, 2.24% for November, and 1.03% for December. Thus, the inflation metric concerning salary raises for retirees was determined as 15.75%. Therefore, retirees deserved a 15.75% raise. SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees receive salary increases twice a year, in January and July. These increases are made based on the inflation rate. Salary increases in January and July are equal to the previous six-month inflation rate.
