Peruvian Fisherman Lost in the Pacific Ocean Found Alive after 95 Days

Peruvian fisherman Maximo Napa Castro, who went missing in the Pacific Ocean, was found alive after spending 95 days at sea. Recounting his experiences, the lost fisherman revealed that he drank rainwater and survived by feeding on turtles, birds, insects, and other living creatures.
According to local reports, fisherman Maximo Napa Castro, who set out to fish from the Marcona coast in southern Peru on December 7, 2024, and went missing, was finally located. Castro, a 61-year-old fisherman who went fishing in the Pacific Ocean and then lost his way due to bad weather conditions, was found alive after 95 days. After being tracked by search and rescue teams for 3 months, Castro was rescued by Ecuadorian fishermen.
Describing his 95-day survival journey with tears in his eyes, the fisherman mentioned that he drank rainwater accumulated in his boat and sustained himself by consuming turtles, birds, and insects. He expressed that he often thought of his family to keep himself going, saying, “I had a few-month-old grandson, and I held onto him.”
