Poverty Line Exceeds 75,000 Liras

In February, Turk-Is announced the hunger threshold for a family of four as 23,324 liras. The poverty line has exceeded 75,000 liras. Kitchen inflation showed an increase of over 5% in February. Turk-Is revealed the results of the hunger and poverty line research for February. According to the research, the hunger threshold, representing the amount that a family of four needs to spend on food to be healthy, balanced, and adequately nourished, increased from 22,131 liras to 23,324 liras in February. Thus, the gap between the hunger threshold and the minimum wage increased to 1,220 liras. The minimum wage for 2025 was set at 22,104 liras. The poverty line, which corresponds to the total amount of obligatory expenditures for food, clothing, housing, transportation, education, health, and other similar needs, increased from 72,088 liras to 75,973 liras. The cost of living for a single worker also increased from 28,756 liras to 30,206 liras per month. KITCHEN INFLATION REMAINS HIGH The kitchen inflation for a family of four living in Ankara showed an increase of 5.39% in February compared to the previous month. The twelve-month change rate was 43.47%, with an annual average increase of 57.73%.
