Preparations have begun for the traditional festival in Thailand

In Thailand, the Songkran Festival, held every year in April, is about to start. Known as “Songkran” in Thailand, the three-day water festival sees the Thai people and tourists engaging in water battles with water guns. Tourism officials in Thailand stated that they expect this year’s festival to generate approximately $780 million in revenue, with around 470,000 international tourists and 4.4 million domestic trips projected to take place. Added to UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2023, the festival will take place from April 12th to 16th.
