The President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (IKBY), Nechirvan Barzani, expressed their positive response to the call made by the terrorist organization leader Abdullah Ocalan for the PKK to lay down their arms and dissolve itself. Barzani stated, “We call on the PKK to adhere to this message and implement it.”

Abdullah Ocalan, the leader of the terrorist organization who is imprisoned on Imrali Island, called on the PKK to lay down their arms and dissolve itself.

President Nechirvan Barzani of the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government warmly welcomed Ocalan’s message and called on the PKK to comply with and implement it.

In his statement, Barzani said:

“We warmly welcome Mr. Ocalan’s message and the call for the disarmament and dissolution of the PKK. We call on the PKK to adhere to and implement this message. We hope that this call will open the way for peace and a peaceful solution. Of course, the time has come for a peaceful, civilized, and democratic struggle where better results and gains can be achieved, not through weapons and violence. As the Kurdistan Region, we fully support the peace process and are ready to play any role necessary for the success of the process. We appreciate the role of President Erdogan and the AKP government, who have been working for peace with a clear vision since coming to power. We hope that in the next phase, with the participation and solidarity of the other parties in Turkey, there will be a successful stage of peace and resolution, wishing for peace and stability to prevail in the country and the entire region.”
