President Trump Addresses Congress: Zelensky Ready for Deal

President Donald Trump delivered his first congressional address of his second term, emphasizing their commitment to revitalizing the “American dream” across a range of issues from border security to the economy, from federal regulation to foreign policy.

At the beginning of President Trump’s speech, an unusual incident occurred in the House Chamber as Democratic Representative Green, ignoring warnings from Speaker Mike Johnson, was escorted out by security for disrupting Trump’s address. While Democratic members jeered Trump, Republican members chanted “USA.” Trump declared they will lower energy prices and increase funds for American citizens, stating, “It’s time to dream big and take bold steps; the American dream is back.”

RUSSIA-UKRAINE PEACE TALKS

Trump mentioned receiving a letter from Ukrainian President Zelensky, stating that Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table. “Under Trump’s strong leadership, we are ready to work for peace. We are ready to sign the Precious Metals Agreement. I also spoke to Russia. They are ready for peace,” Trump said.

GOLDEN CARD PROGRAM

Trump announced that those who create businesses worth over $5 million through the Golden Card program will become US citizens.

Key points from Trump’s speech include: “From April 2, reciprocal tariffs will be imposed. Applying tariffs will enrich the US again. Taiwan announced plans to establish a $160 billion chip manufacturing factory in the US. I signed an executive order mandating mandatory death penalty for anyone who kills police officers. I am requesting a budget from Congress for the Iron Dome defense system. This is crucial for our defense. We are reclaiming the Panama Canal. The Panama Canal was built by Americans for Americans. 38,000 American workers lost their lives. It was the most expensive project in our history. We did not give it to China; we gave it to Panama, and we are taking it back. Greenland has a very small population and a very large territory. Greenland is important to us. We would gladly accept if they want to join us.

There is discussion about Ukraine and Russia. We are working to stop the war there. The US has sent billions of dollars in support for Ukraine’s defense. We spent $350 billion, while Europe spent $100 billion. I received a letter from Ukrainian President Zelensky. Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table. ‘Under Trump’s strong leadership, we are ready to work for peace,’ he said. ‘We are ready to sign the Precious Metals Agreement.’ I also spoke to Russia. They are also ready for peace.”
