Jewelers point out that the best investment right now is in gram gold, emphasizing that the demand for Trabzon wire bracelets is not like it used to be. Zekeriya Tonyalı, a jeweler from Trabzon, stated that with the increase in the price of the Trabzon wire bracelet, people are now avoiding wire, saying, “Trump’s election, putting pressure on the world economy, and increasing taxes are further increasing the demand for gold. All economists and we believe that prices will be between 4,000 and 4,500 in a short time. We recommend that people buy gold because we think gold will gain much more value. The minimum price for a Trabzon wire bracelet is around 400-650. When prices are like this, the escape from wire starts. People try to buy gram gold and bracelets instead of wire. Given the current prices, wire bracelets are very difficult. We have prices ranging from 400,000 to 650,000 TRY for a wire bracelet set. There used to be a price in the 150,000 range a year or two ago but now there is a threefold increase. At the moment, people are trying to buy gram gold and bracelets for investment purposes.” Levent Çelikoğlu, a jeweler, added, “Trabzon wires are around 540,000 TRY on average with 19 rows, five column necklaces, and earrings. Gold, as always, pleases its investors by constantly rising. The demand for wire bracelets is decreasing compared to the past due to the price. People are investing more in gram gold.” Erhan Şakar mentioned that the increase in the price of gram gold affects jewelry, saying, “Gold prices have increased significantly in the past year. Due to the decrease in bank interest rates and the limited increase in foreign exchange, there has been an interest in gold. Since gold is a safe haven, it is preferred as an investment instrument. As the gold prices have increased, there has also been an increase in jewelry. The price of a complete Trabzon Wire can go up to 400,000-600,000 TRY.”
