Price of Ramadan packages? Discount decision from supermarkets

Supermarkets have initiated price fixing and discount campaigns during the month of Ramadan. Ramadan packages are now on shelves for 370 lira. It is also expected that these discounts will support a downward trend in inflation. Local and national chain supermarkets have started price fixing on some products and applying discounts on many products throughout the month of Ramadan. Following the decision, it was announced that prices would be kept stable for thousands of products such as legumes, pasta, flour, and cooking oil. Faruk Güzeldere, President of the Istanbul Association of Food and Grocery Retailers (İstanbul PERDER), stated that in addition to price fixing on some products, a 25% discount would be applied, saying, “We have fixed prices in hundreds of aisles, thousands of products. Customer interest is very good, products are in demand.” Supermarkets had also fixed meat prices within the framework of the protocol they signed with the Meat and Milk Institution.
