With just a few days left until the month of Ramadan, the prices of food packages and iftar menus have been announced. Industry representatives revealed that the food packages will range between 3,500 to 4,000 Turkish Lira. The iftar menus will start from 380 lira and can go up to 1,000 lira. As the beginning of Ramadan approaches, a lot of movement is expected in the ready meal sector, just like in many other industries. The usual lunchtime rush seen in other months is anticipated to shift towards the time of iftar. Industry representatives mentioned that they will try to compensate for the loss of lunch business with Ramadan food packages and iftar tent meals. They also expressed their expectations from local authorities and charitable tent owners. HOW MUCH WILL RAMADAN FOOD PACKAGES COST? The President of the Turkish Food Industry Association Federations (YESİDEF), Hüseyin Bozdağ, announced that the prices of Ramadan food packages would be between 3,500-4,000 lira per month. These special Ramadan packages will consist of products that can be consumed over the course of a month, such as flour, oil, pasta, and rice. HERE ARE THE PRICES OF IFTAR MENUS Bozdağ also provided information about the special iftar menus for Ramadan. Under normal circumstances, a 4-dish meal that usually costs 150-200 lira will now be served along with appetizers in the range of 380-420 lira. For delivery services, prices will go up to 550-600 lira. In tents or gardens where iftar meals are served on a table, the menu price will increase up to 650-1000 lira. The menus will include soup, meat dishes, rice, dessert, local beverages, and appetizers.
