Privatization of Çayırhan Thermal Power Plant

The Çayırhan Thermal Power Plant and Mining Field in Nallıhan district of Ankara was awarded to Akçadağ Construction Energy Mining Corporation for 20 billion liras.
Since November 20, 2024, the Çayırhan Thermal Power Plant and Mining Field, where workers have been on strike, has been privatized.
Five companies participated in the auction conducted by the Privatization Administration Presidency. In the first round conducted through a closed bid process, the highest offer was made for 13 billion 50 million liras.
In the second round, held through a closed bid process, the company with the lowest offer was eliminated.
After starting at a price of 15 billion 600 million liras, the auction ended with Akçadağ Construction Energy Mining Corporation winning the bid for 20 billion liras.
The company’s chairman of the board, Furkan Akçadağ, stated, “We have pledged to continue the employment of all our colleagues there and even increase the number of employees.”
