The proposal to raise retirement bonuses from 3,000 to 4,000 liras was approved by the Plan and Budget Committee. With the law’s passage, Eid bonuses will be paid at 4,000 liras during Ramadan and Eid al-Adha. The additional 1,000 lira increase in Eid bonuses is estimated to create an additional cost of 28.4 billion liras in the 2025 budget. Approximately 15.5 million retirees are expected to benefit from this regulation. WHEN WILL THE BAYRAM BONUSES BE PAID? Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, stated that once the 4,000 lira bonus is passed in parliament, it will immediately start to be transferred to accounts. SS, Bağ-Kur, and Civil Servant retirement bonuses will be paid on different days based on allocation numbers. This year, payments are expected to be deposited in accounts between March 24th and 28th.
