Proposal from CHP to Increase Retiree Holiday Bonus to Minimum Wage Level

CHP Niğde Deputy Ömer Fethi Gürer stated that they have submitted a bill to the Parliament to raise the retiree holiday bonus to the minimum wage level. During a press conference at the Parliament, CHP Niğde Deputy Ömer Fethi Gürer mentioned that the retiree holiday bonus, which was raised to 3,000 TL with the latest regulation, corresponds to 13.57% of the current minimum wage, while it was 62% of the minimum wage at the time it was set at 1,000 TL in 2018. Displaying items like baklava, candy, and chocolate, Gürer noted that in 2018, when the holiday bonus was set at 1,000 TL, walnut baklava was priced at 60 TL per kilo, holiday candy at 10 TL per kilo, and milk chocolate at 98 TL per kilo. CHP Niğde Deputy Gürer underscored that they have submitted a bill to raise the retiree holiday bonus to the minimum wage level to the Parliament Speaker’s Office.
