President Donald Trump made a controversial statement regarding Gaza in an interview with Fox News.

Trump addressed the highly criticized Gaza plan, saying, “This is a great place. I don’t know why Israel gave up on this place.”

Expressing surprise at Jordan and Egypt opposing the plan for the displacement of Palestinians in the region, Trump said, “We pay billions of dollars to Jordan and Egypt annually, and I was a bit surprised to hear them say that.”

Trump claimed that the Gaza plan is a “truly effective plan,” stating, “But I’m not forcing it, just leaning back and recommending it. Then the US will be the owner of the region. There won’t be Hamas, there will be development, and you will start everything anew with a clean slate.”

The US President alleged that if Palestinians in the Gaza Strip were given the option of choice, they would want to leave the region.
