Putin Extends Hand of Friendship to the US: Critical Meeting in Moscow Lasted 4 Hours

The Kremlin announced that the meeting between US President Trump’s Middle East Special Envoy Witkoff and Russian leader Putin lasted for more than 4 hours.
US President Donald Trump’s Middle East Special Envoy Steve Witkoff met with Russian President Vladimir Putin for the third time this year in the city of St. Petersburg, Russia.
In a statement released by the Kremlin, it was noted that the meeting, held at the Presidential Library yesterday, lasted for over 4 hours.
The closed-door meeting, which ended around 10:00 pm local time, reportedly addressed various aspects of the crisis in Ukraine. Putin’s Special Representative for Investment and Economic Cooperation, Kirill Dmitriev, described the meeting as “productive.”
Following the meeting, it was announced that the plane carrying Witkoff departed from Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg around 11:00 pm local time.
“THE PRESIDENT WANTS THE WAR TO END”
White House Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt stated in a press release regarding the meeting, “This is another step in the negotiation process for a ceasefire and a final peace agreement in Russia and Ukraine.” Leavitt added, “I believe the President has made it quite clear that he wants the war to end. We believe we have the power to turn an agreement into a peace treaty, and we will use this power.”
Witkoff and Putin had previously met in Moscow on March 13.
