Putin gives order, Russia’s hypersonic nuclear submarine launched

In Russia, the Perm nuclear submarine, where hypersonic missiles are deployed, was launched. Putin made remarks during the ceremony.

Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Atomflot in Murmansk Port. Putin participated in the launching ceremony of the new fourth-generation multi-purpose nuclear Perm submarine in Severodvinsk via video conference during his visit last night.

During his speech at the ceremony, Putin thanked the teams involved in the production of the submarine, stating, “Today, the nuclear-powered multi-purpose Perm submarine is being launched at the epic Sevmash shipyard in Severodvinsk. We continue the mass production of modern missile submarines. It is expected to join the navy next year to participate in combat missions.”

Putin pointed out that the Yasen-M missile submarines have state-of-the-art navigation and communication systems as well as advanced sonar devices. He stated, “In addition, they carry high-precision weapons and robotic systems. Perm became the first multi-purpose submarine carrying Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles.”

Stating that they will continue to strengthen the navy, Putin emphasized that the construction speed and scale of warships and submarines equipped with modern weapons, advanced technology, and communication systems have been steadily increasing. Putin said, “These submarines and warship fleets will enhance the power of our navy, strengthen Russia’s maritime borders, and protect the Northern Sea Route. They will assist in supporting Russia’s national interests worldwide, including the Arctic region, which is becoming increasingly important economically, logistically, and in terms of transportation amid growing global competition. We will continue to do everything possible to defend Russia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and to develop its status as a leading naval power.”
