Rabies Outbreak in the Philippines: 426 Deaths in 2024

The Philippines’ Health Ministry reported that 426 people died due to rabies in the year 2024.
Information regarding rabies cases from the past year was provided by the Philippines Health Ministry.
The statement noted, “The Health Ministry recorded 426 rabies cases throughout the year 2024. All cases resulted in fatalities.”
The ministry stated that this situation serves as proof that rabies is 100% fatal, adding, “45% of these cases, nearly half, are due to bites from domestic animals. Therefore, the Health Ministry reminds us to vaccinate our pets annually.”
