Reaction to the Allegations of Özgür Özel from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance

During his party’s congress, the leader of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), Özgür Özel, made statements targeting the Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek.
The Ministry of Treasury and Finance emphasized that these allegations were not true and clarified that the reports prepared by the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) were not known to the ministry beforehand. It was stated that Özgür Özel once again targeted Minister Şimşek with baseless and unfounded accusations in his speech at the congress, stating, “As has been repeated many times, the information conveyed by MASAK to judicial authorities is outside the knowledge and approval of the Ministry. In this process, it cannot be claimed that our Minister or ministry officials were informed beforehand or intervened. We vehemently reject and condemn the persistent and unfounded accusations directed at our Minister. In this context, legal action will be taken against the defamatory and baseless accusations aimed at undermining our Minister’s reputation. Respectfully announced to the public.”
