Real decrease in housing prices continues

Housing prices nationwide saw a 2.8% increase in February. However, housing prices decreased by 5.6% in real terms. The Central Bank released the housing price statistics for February. According to the data, housing prices increased by 2.8% compared to the previous month in February. In real terms, prices dropped by 5.6%. The Housing Price Index (HPI) rose by 2.8% to 170.5 in February compared to the previous month. The HPI, which increased by 31.3% compared to the same month of the previous year, also showed a real decrease of 5.6% during the same period. In February, housing prices in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir saw increases of 2.6%, 3.3%, and 3.8%, respectively. The index values in these cities recorded increases of 28.4%, 37.2%, and 32.7% compared to the same month of the previous year.
