The number of real estate properties sold in January and February in Turkey reached a record high of 471,694.

All real estate sales, including residential, land, workplace, and commercial properties, that started the new year at a rapid pace continued this momentum in February. Property sales in January increased by 20.2% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 238,938, while February sales rose by 7% to 232,756. When the first two months are considered together, real estate sales saw a 13.2% increase, totaling 471,694.

This data marked the highest January-February figure of all time.

In previous January-February periods, the highest sales number before was in 2023 at 419,894. In the first two months of 2020, 418,414 real estate properties were sold. WILL THE DEMAND FOR HOUSING CONTINUE? Industry representatives noted that the continuing decrease in real estate prices specifically in the housing sector and the decrease in payback periods revitalized sales, indicating that the demand that started in the second half of last year is ongoing. Representatives mentioned that a significant portion of investors want to capitalize their gains from areas like gold, foreign exchange, and the stock market in real estate and that citizens expecting interest rate cuts are trying to act quickly. REVENUE FROM TITLE DEEDS INCREASED BY 73% IN TWO MONTHS The record-breaking property sales were also reflected in the revenue from title deed fees. In the January-February period, there were 3,208,031 transactions recorded at the land registry. Approximately 472,000 were sales, 229,000 were mortgages, 73,000 were transfers, 21,400 were corrections, 11,400 were expropriations, 9,700 were divisions, and 4,800 were mergers. Other transactions approached 2.4 million. The revenue from transactions recorded in the first two months at the land registry increased by 73.3%, reaching 18,982 million Turkish lira.
