Record-breaking March Sales in Automotive Sector

The automobile and light commercial vehicle market set a record in March with 116,900 units. The share of electric and hybrid vehicles also reached its peak at 42 percent. Car and light commercial vehicle sales reached a new peak of 116,900 units in March, an increase of 6.4 percent compared to the previous year. The share of electric and hybrid cars exceeded 42 percent, reaching a new high. According to the data from the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ADMA), car sales in March increased by 5.5 percent to 91,828 units. The light commercial vehicle market also grew by 10.2 percent to 25,072. Despite low credit amounts and relatively high interest rates, increased demand and the entry of new models into the market played a role in the strong sales performance in recent months. Light vehicle sales saw a 6.5 percent decrease in the first quarter, totaling 276,284 units. Nevertheless, light commercial sales recorded the second-best performance in history following last year’s record. Pure electric and hybrid car sales in March saw a 123.3 percent increase from the previous year, totaling 38,724 units and claiming a 42.2 percent share of the car market.
