Record First Quarter in Real Estate Sales

The number of real estate properties sold nationwide reached 694,628 in the period of January to March, breaking the all-time first quarter record. The rapid start of the new year continued with sales of residences, land, commercial properties, and all real estate types in February and March as well. Real estate sales in January increased by 20.2% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 238,938, while February sales rose by 7% to 232,756. However, this figure decreased by 0.8% annually last month, dropping to 222,934. When looking at the first quarter collectively, all real estate sales increased by 8.3%, reaching 694,628. This number marked the highest January-March data of all time, surpassing the previous record of 683,399 in 2023. In the same period, nearly 4.8 million transactions were carried out in land registries between January and March. Approximately 695,000 of these were sales, 344,000 mortgages, 106,000 transfers, 36,000 corrections, 17,000 expropriations, close to 15,000 separations, 7,300 consolidations, and 6,400 donation transactions. Other transactions exceeded 3.5 million. The fees collected from the transactions at the land registry during this period increased by 72.5%, reaching 28,832 million Turkish Lira.
