Record in Exports to Slovenia

Turkey achieved the highest monthly export ever to Slovenia with 371.5 million dollars. The economic relations between Turkey and Slovenia have been gaining momentum in recent years. The “Strategic Partnership Document” signed between Turkey and Slovenia in 2011 has accelerated bilateral relations in many areas. Despite not including a trade commitment, the document has contributed to the increasing commercial relations between the two countries in recent years. As a result, trade relations between the parties have started to show stable growth. For further development of the collaborations between the two countries, there is great potential in various sectors such as energy, logistics, health, construction, telecommunications, security, energy, oil and gas, transportation, information technologies, automation solutions, steel construction, logistics and storage, aluminum and metal, defense, and aviation. According to the data compiled from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) data, Turkey achieved the highest monthly export ever to Slovenia with 371.5 million dollars. Turkey’s exports to Slovenia increased by 119.3 percent compared to the same period last year in January.

IN THE INDUSTRIAL SECTOR
When looked at sectorally, the automotive industry achieved the highest exports to Slovenia with 170.9 million dollars. Following the automotive sector, chemical substances and products totaled 170.3 million dollars, the steel sector 5.5 million dollars, the electrical and electronic sector 4.1 million dollars, and the climate control industry 3.4 million dollars of exports. Ready-to-wear clothing and confectionery made 3.3 million dollars, machinery and accessories 3.1 million dollars, textiles and raw materials 3.1 million dollars, iron and non-iron metals 2.8 million dollars, and mining products 911 thousand dollars of foreign sales to Slovenia. Thus, 9 out of the top 10 sectors exporting to Slovenia in January were within the industrial sector.

CHEMICAL SECTOR LEADS
In January, the sector that saw the highest increase in export value to Slovenia was chemical substances and products with 163.7 million dollars. Following this sector in export growth were the automotive industry with 31.7 million dollars, steel with 2.8 million dollars, ready-to-wear clothing and confectionery with 1.8 million dollars, and climate control industry with 1.8 million dollars. Looking at cities, Kocaeli exported 312.6 million dollars, Istanbul 18.1 million dollars, Bursa 17.2 million dollars, Sakarya 3.7 million dollars, and Izmir 3.5 million dollars to Slovenia.
