Turkey achieved the highest monthly export ever to Slovenia with 371.5 million dollars. The economic relations between Turkey and Slovenia have been gaining momentum in recent years. The “Strategic Partnership Document” signed between Turkey and Slovenia in 2011 has enabled bilateral relations to gain momentum in many areas. Although the document did not include a trade commitment, it contributed to the increase in trade relations between the two countries in recent years. As a result, trade relations between the parties have started to show steady growth. To further develop cooperation between the two countries, sectors such as energy, logistics, health, construction, telecommunications, security, energy, oil and gas, transportation, information technologies, automation solutions, steel construction, logistics and storage, aluminum and metals, defense, and aviation have great potential. According to data compiled from the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM), Turkey conducted the highest monthly export ever to Slovenia with 371.5 million dollars. Turkey’s exports to Slovenia increased by 119.3 percent in January compared to the same period last year. IN THE INDUSTRIAL SECTOR, Looking at the sectors, the automotive industry made the highest export to Slovenia with 170.9 million dollars. Following the automotive sector, chemicals and products had exports worth 170.3 million dollars, the steel sector had 5.5 million dollars, the electrical and electronic sector had 4.1 million dollars, and the air conditioning industry had 3.4 million dollars. Clothing and apparel had exports worth 3.3 million dollars, machinery and equipment had exports worth 3.1 million dollars, textiles and raw materials had exports worth 3.1 million dollars, iron and non-ferrous metals had exports worth 2.8 million dollars, and mining products conducted external sales worth 911 thousand dollars to Slovenia in January. Thus, 9 out of the top 10 sectors that conducted external sales to Slovenia in January were within the industrial sector. THE CHEMICAL SECTOR OUTPERFORMED In January, the sector that had the highest increase in exports to Slovenia in terms of value was chemicals and products with 163.7 million dollars. In terms of export growth, this sector was followed by the automotive industry with 31.7 million dollars, steel with 2.8 million dollars, clothing and apparel with 1.8 million dollars, and air conditioning industry with 1.8 million dollars. Looking at the provinces, Kocaeli had exports worth 312.6 million dollars, Istanbul had 18.1 million dollars, Bursa had 17.2 million dollars, Sakarya had 3.7 million dollars, and Izmir had 3.5 million dollars’ worth of exports to Slovenia.
