Record seizure of 8.1 billion lira at customs

In the first two months of the year, a total of 8.1 billion lira worth of narcotics and commercial goods were seized at customs. The Customs Protection Teams of the Ministry of Trade recorded a 63% increase compared to the previous year, with a total seizure of 8.1 billion lira worth of commercial goods and narcotics. According to the Ministry, operations conducted by the teams resulted in the seizure of 6.3 tons of narcotics, 31 tons of tobacco and tobacco products, 400 kilograms of valuable minerals, and 326 luxury vehicles. From live animals to electronic devices, historical artifacts to medical supplies, a wide range of smuggled goods were confiscated.
