Redefinition of National Park Boundaries

The boundaries of the Sakarya Battlefield Historical National Park have been redefined. Presidential decisions regarding land consolidation and border determination have been published in the Official Gazette. According to these decisions, land consolidation and field development services will be carried out in certain areas located in the central district of Edirne by the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSİ). Another decision redefined the boundaries of the Sakarya Battlefield Historical National Park. The Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette decided to exclude certain areas in Adana, Antalya, Bursa, Elazığ, Isparta, Kahramanmaraş, Konya, Mersin, Muğla, Sinop, Trabzon, and Yozgat from forest boundaries. Lands excluded from forest boundaries, not less than twice their size, will be allocated by the General Directorate of National Real Estate of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change to the General Directorate of Forestry for afforestation purposes under the control and disposal of the state or under the private ownership of the Treasury. Additionally, objections against the amendment of zoning and implementation plans prepared for the property in Alaçatı Neighborhood of Çeşme district in Izmir, registered in the name of the Ministry of Finance under privatization, have been rejected.
