A road suddenly collapsed in Zhudong town, belonging to Xinzhu City, Taiwan. Due to the collapse, a parked vehicle fell into the crater formed by the collapse within seconds.

As the vehicle was buried 5 meters deep, the fact that no one was inside prevented a major disaster. Following the initial investigation in the area, it was reported that the collapse occurred as a result of unauthorized construction by a company in the area.

Mayor Guo Yuanzhang of Zhudong made a statement regarding the incident, “This land belongs to the National Property Administration. Some companies occupied these areas for parking and other purposes without the necessary infrastructure being built afterward.

The infrastructure of the collapsed area was old. Due to lack of maintenance, the steel beams broke, causing a collapse in the ground,” he said.

A detailed investigation has been launched into the incident, and a criminal complaint has been filed against the construction company.
