Russia admits: “We shot down Ukraine’s F-16 fighter jet”

The Russian Ministry of Defense admitted that they shot down Ukraine’s F-16 fighter jet using air defense systems. The Ministry of Defense of Russia made statements about the activities of the Russian army in Ukraine in the last 24 hours, including the downed Ukrainian F-16. The statement noted: “The F-16 fighter jet belonging to the Ukrainian Air Force, 8 JDAM guided bombs, 7 HIMARS multi-launch rocket system produced by the U.S., and 207 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were shot down by air defense systems.” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced yesterday that the pilot of the F-16 fighter jet belonging to the Ukrainian Air Force was killed in action during a dogfight. Zelensky did not share information about the location of the conflict and what happened to the F-16 pilot who died.
