Russian Army Advances in Kursk: 64% Retaken

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Russian troops have retaken the settlements of Orlovka and Pogrebki in the Kursk region, which were entered by Ukrainian forces in early August 2024. The Ministry of Defense of Russia provided information about the activities of the Russian army in the Kursk region. The statement indicated ongoing conflicts between Russian and Ukrainian soldiers in the region, with the expression “the settlements of Orlovka and Pogrebki were liberated as a result of attacks by the troops of the Northern Military Group.” It was stated in the statement that since August 2024, the Ukrainian army lost over 63,500 soldiers, 381 tanks, 288 infantry fighting vehicles, 243 armored personnel carriers, and more than 2,000 armored vehicles in the direction of Kursk. Last week, Deputy Chief of the Russian General Staff Sergey Rudskoy reported that they had retaken 64% of the territory seized by the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region. The conflicts between the armies of the two countries have been ongoing since Ukrainian soldiers entered the Russian territory of Kursk on August 6, 2024.
