Scientists Warn: Lake Victoria Turning Green

Alerting about the rapid greening of Lake Victoria, the world’s largest tropical lake, scientists issued a warning.
It was reported that a ‘cyanobacteria’ explosion occurred in the lake, which spans three countries in Africa, due to the process of ‘eutrophication’.
It was explained that the main cause of this situation is agricultural runoff, industrial waste, and atmospheric pollution entering the lake as a result of human activities, while it was emphasized that climate change is also accelerating the process.
Experts cautioned that this process could cause ‘serious harm’ to the lake ecosystem and the millions of people living in its surroundings.
