Severe Storm in the US: 3 People Dead

Three people have died and eight others were injured due to severe storms affecting the southern and central parts of the US. Tornado and flash flood warnings have been issued for many areas. The severe storms in the southern and central regions of the US have claimed at least three lives. Tornado and thunderstorm alerts have been issued for some areas in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and Mississippi, with reports of damage to power lines and trees, as well as roofs of many houses being blown off. Clark Parrott from the Missouri Highway Patrol announced that at least one person had died in the southeast of the state. In Indianapolis, at least one person was trapped temporarily after a warehouse collapsed. A tornado warning was also issued for the northeast of Arkansas. The Tennessee Department of Health confirmed that two more people lost their lives due to adverse weather conditions, with one in McNairy and the other in Obion. 8 people were injured in Arkansas and Kentucky. As the severe storms continue, flood warnings have been issued for the southern and inland areas of the US. The National Weather Service warned that a powerful storm system could bring potentially life-threatening flash floods. With over 30 centimeters of rain expected in the next four days, the Weather Service used expressions like “historic rainfall amounts and impacts are possible.” According to information shared by the Storm Prediction Center based in Oklahoma, over 90 million people from Texas to Minnesota and Maine are at risk of adverse weather conditions. The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management reported that tornadoes, hail, severe storms, and flash floods caused damage in 22 areas, with at least four people injured. In Kentucky, four people were injured after flying objects hit a church due to a tornado, with one of the injured in critical condition while the others were reported to be out of danger.
