Following a sharp decline in Borsa Istanbul, the Capital Markets Board has initiated an investigation. In a statement issued by the CMB, it was mentioned that an investigation has been started regarding the extraordinary price movements in the BIST stock market. Transactions of all institutions are being scrutinized by both the CMB and Borsa Istanbul Inc. In case of actions and transactions that may disrupt the working of the capital markets in terms of trust, transparency, and stability, punitive and/or administrative measures will be taken by the CMB in accordance with the Capital Markets Law. Additionally, immediate legal actions/investigations have been initiated by the CMB against those who spread purposeful and misleading news causing unusual price and quantity movements.
