Signature Campaign in Canada: Over 240,000 People Signed to Revoke Musk’s Citizenship

In Canada, over 240,000 Canadians have signed a petition to revoke the citizenship of Elon Musk, a senior advisor to US President Donald Trump, citing “activities contrary to the country’s national interests.” According to information on the Canadian Parliament’s website, 240,554 Canadians have signed the petition so far. On the other hand, in response to the petition to cancel his citizenship, Musk, a senior advisor to US President Donald Trump, argued on social media platform X that Canada is not a “real country.” The petition to revoke Musk’s citizenship was launched in Canada on February 23 claiming that he engaged in “activities contrary to the country’s national interests.” The petition alleges that Musk “used his wealth and power to influence Canadian elections” and that he is “a member of a foreign government trying to erase Canada’s sovereignty.” The petition will be presented in the House of Commons on June 20th.
