SpaceX’s Starship rocket’s 8th test flight canceled

The 8th test flight of the Starship rocket owned by the U.S. billionaire Elon Musk’s SpaceX company was canceled during the countdown.

The 8th test flight of the “Starship” rocket, scheduled to take off from the Starbase facility in Texas, was cancelled 40 seconds before launch due to undisclosed issues. While no specific date was given for the next test flight, Musk stated on his social media account that the test flight could be “re-attempted in a day or two.” The announcement on the company’s website also noted that the Starship team was preparing for the next test flight.

WAS DESTROYED IN THE 7TH TEST FLIGHT

During the 7th test flight on January 16 to test the capabilities of the Starship rocket, SpaceX announced that the spacecraft lost connection shortly after liftoff and the upper stage of the rocket was destroyed. Musk, in a post on his social media account, used the phrase “Preliminary assessments indicated that there was a large oxygen/fuel leak that would create pressure exceeding the ventilation capacity in the gap above the flame trench.” Musk mentioned that some changes, including a fire suppression system, would be made to the Starship rocket, indicating the current situation showed that the next launch would not go beyond February. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) initiated an investigation into the failed test flight but had approved the 8th test flight of the Starship. SpaceX aims to use Starship for crewed missions to the Moon and Mars.
