Spain succumbs to floods: Alarm level raised

The alarm level has been raised in Spain due to the severe rainfall that has been ongoing for the past three weeks.

Officials reported evacuating residents living near rivers in Madrid, Toledo, and Avila. Additionally, it was mentioned that the alarm level has been elevated due to the risk of overflowing for the Manzanares and Jarama rivers passing through the capital Madrid.

An emergency was declared in the districts south of Avila by the local government, urging residents not to leave their homes unless necessary. Meteorological authorities stated that the rainfall in Spain in March has reached record levels.
