Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez: We will not allow Trump’s Gaza plan

Pedro Sanchez opposed US President Donald Trump’s plan to forcibly displace Palestinians in Gaza, stating that “no real estate operation can cover up the crimes against humanity in Gaza.” Speaking at an event in San Sebastian, the general secretary of the Spanish Socialist Worker’s Party (PSOE), Sanchez said that Spain will not allow Trump’s Gaza plan. He emphasized the importance of respecting international law, especially humanitarian law, in Gaza and called for Palestinians to live in peace, harmony, and security in Palestine, and Israelis in Israel. Sanchez expressed that no real estate operation can cover up the atrocities and crimes against humanity in Gaza in recent years, stating, “We should not allow this, we will not allow it from Spain.” Regarding the possible start of peace negotiations to end the Russia-Ukraine War after Trump’s phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Sanchez stressed that if such talks were to happen, they should be in Ukraine’s interests and under their leadership. Advocating for multilateralism against those who seek to disregard international law, Sanchez insisted on the necessity of Europeans being present in all discussions related to Europe’s security.
