Statement from Kremlin about the US: Everything is Going Very Well

Kremlin Spokesperson Peskov, in his assessment of relations with the US, stated that everything is going very well but expecting instant results is impossible.
As high-level contacts continued to bring the US-Russia relations closer earlier this week, Kremlin made a statement on the matter. Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, used the words “Everything is going very well” in an interview with Russian state television. Peskov, who mentioned that contacts with President Donald Trump’s team were going well, added that it is too early to expect instant results due to the level of damage in relations during Joe Biden’s term. Putin and Trump “Patiently Walking on This Path” Following the meeting between Trump’s Middle East Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Russia this week, the Kremlin Spokesperson stated that there were differences of opinion regarding the state of relations between Moscow and Washington. Peskov answered a question about the closeness of the Putin-Trump meeting by stating that the two individuals were “patiently walking together on this path,” emphasizing that repairing relations is a very serious and arduous task.
PUTIN AND WITKOFF 4.5 HOUR MEETING Putin had discussed the resolution of the Ukraine issue with the US President Donald Trump’s Middle East Special Envoy Steve Witkoff on April 11th. According to a statement from the Kremlin Palace, Witkoff had been received by Putin in St. Petersburg. The meeting had addressed the ways to resolve the Ukraine issue. It was noted that Putin’s meeting with Witkoff lasted approximately 4.5 hours. Prior to meeting with Putin, Trump’s Middle East Special Envoy Witkoff, who visited Russia, had also visited St. Petersburg’s Isaac Cathedral. Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov had informed journalists that Witkoff had made his third visit to Russia.
