Statement from Trump: Zelensky to Visit White House

US President Donald Trump stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be visiting the White House this week or next week to sign a precious metals agreement. President Trump, hosting French President Emmanuel Macron at the White House, discussed the agenda with reporters in the Oval Office. He mentioned ongoing talks with both Russia and Ukraine to end the Russia-Ukraine War, noting they are close to finalizing the precious metals agreement with the Kiev government. “I will meet with President Zelensky. He might come to sign the agreement either this week or next week. I would love to meet him in the Oval Office, that would be nice. The agreement is currently being worked on. We are very close to a final deal,” said Trump, emphasizing that the agreement will provide significant benefits to both the US and Ukraine economies. Trump expressed that talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin are progressing well, stating, “We have had very good talks with Russia. We are trying to put an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine. I think we have made a lot of progress in a short time like a few weeks.” Trump also mentioned, “We are very close to reaching the agreement being worked on, close to making a deal where we will get our money back within a certain period.” Trump defended that the US has provided Ukraine with “more help than anyone has ever given before,” adding, “If I weren’t president, Ukraine would still be in a situation where it couldn’t even think about peace.” He also highlighted the strong relationship with France, mentioning they will be making many trade deals with the country.
