The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day at 10,060 points with a 6.87% decrease. Following a loss exceeding 5% at the opening, the circuit breaker was activated.

After a sharp decline in the index, the circuit breaker system was triggered as of 09:55, temporarily halting transactions.

The banking index lost 7.02% and the holding index dropped by 6.69%. While all sector indices declined, communication recorded the highest loss at 7.56%. In the domestic market, Borsa Istanbul mostly saw a selling trend yesterday, with the BIST 100 index closing the day at 10,802.23 points, down by 0.55%.

Furthermore, it was decided that the upward tick rule would be applied to short selling transactions for one day in the shares listed in the BIST 50 index in today’s session. Analysts noted that technically, the support levels for the BIST 100 index are at 10,000 and 9,900, with resistances at 10,100 and 10,200 points.
