Stock market opened flat today

At Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index started the day with a 0.07% decrease at 9,829.94 points. At the opening, the BIST 100 index fell to 9,829.94 points, down 6.55 points and 0.07% from the previous close. While the banking index gained 0.04%, the holding index lost 0.03% in value. Among the sector indices, the forestry paper printing sector gained the most with 0.20%, while sports lost the most with 0.89%. Yesterday, Borsa Istanbul followed a sales-heavy trend, with the BIST 100 index closing the day at 9,836.49 points, down 0.42%. In the global markets, news flow regarding additional U.S. tariffs keeps investors focused. Major trading partners of the United States continue to prepare for possible scenarios following President Donald Trump’s trade and economic policy moves. Analysts noted that today, the domestic housing price index and the private sector’s foreign credit debt will be followed internally, while externally, Bank of England President Andrew Bailey’s speech, unemployment rate in the UK, and Zew economic confidence index in Germany and the Eurozone will be monitored. From a technical standpoint, analysts stated that 9,800 and 9,750 points serve as support levels for the BIST 100 index, while 9,900 and 10,000 levels act as resistance.
