Stock market opened with a decrease

At Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index began the day with a 1.01% decrease, starting at 9,617.01 points. At the opening, the BIST 100 index fell to 9,617.01 points, a decrease of 98.57 points and 1.01% compared to the previous close. The banking index lost 1.85% and the holding index lost 0.74%. Among sector indices, the technology sector gained the most with 0.39%, while mining lost the most with 2.29%. Yesterday, BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul followed a buying weighted trend, finishing the day with a 4.48% gain at 9,715.58 points. In the global markets, there is a positive trend highlighted due to the expectation that U.S. President Donald Trump may show a more moderate attitude towards tariffs and developments indicating a decrease in geopolitical tensions. On the other hand, it was stated in a written statement from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance in Turkey that Minister Mehmet Şimşek and Central Bank President Fatih Karahan held a video conference with international investors, answering their questions regarding current developments. Şimşek stated in the meeting with international investors that all necessary steps are being taken as quickly as possible for the healthy functioning and efficiency of the markets, expecting the effects of recent developments on the economy to be temporary and limited, and reassured that necessary actions will be taken when needed in the future. Analysts noted that from a technical standpoint, the support levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,600 and 9,500 points, while the resistance levels are at 9,700 and 9,800 levels.
