The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day with a 0.15% increase at 9,352.49 points. At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose by 13.91 points and 0.15% to reach 9,352.49 points compared to the previous closing. The banking index gained 0.04%, while the holding index increased by 0.44%. Among the sector indices, the only gainer was tourism with 0.85%, while sports suffered the most with 1.47% loss. Following a mainly bullish trend yesterday, the BIST 100 index ended the day at 9,338.58 points with a 0.68% increase. In the global markets, uncertainties arise as investors find it difficult to make decisions due to the frequent changes in US President Donald Trump’s customs tariff policies. Concerns about escalating tensions between the US and China are keeping the risk perception high. Analysts noted that today, the market participants’ survey by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey domestically, and the Producer Price Index (PPI) in the US along with a speech by the President of the European Central Bank (ECB) Christine Lagarde in the Eurozone will be closely monitored. From a technical standpoint, they mentioned that the resistance levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,450 and 9,550 points, with support at 9,300 and 9,200 levels.
