Stock market rose in the first half

The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul gained 0.34 percent in the first half of the day. Moving with an upward trend in the first half of the day, the BIST 100 index rose by 35.15 points and 0.34 percent to 10,494.23 points as of 13:00 compared to the previous close. The total trading volume reached 69.6 billion Turkish lira. While the banking index gained 0.57 percent, the holding index lost 0.09 percent. Among the sector indices, financial leasing factoring gained the most by 3.81 percent, while sports lost the most by 2.04 percent. In global markets, uncertainties increased with changes in U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff approach and mixed signals from macroeconomic data. All eyes are now on the non-farm payrolls data to be announced today in the U.S. and Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell’s speech. Analysts noted that the treasury cash balance domestically in the afternoon and Powell’s speech and non-farm payrolls data in the U.S. internationally will be closely monitored, highlighting that technically the BIST 100 index has resistance at 10,600 and 10,700 points, and support levels at 10,400 and 10,300.
