In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index decreased by 0.2 percent in the first half of the day, falling to 9,696.16 points. Moving with a downward trend in the first half of the day, the BIST 100 index dropped to 9,696.16 points by 13.00, showing a decrease of 19.43 points and 0.2 percent compared to the previous close. The total trading volume was 61.6 billion Turkish liras. The banking index lost 1.75 percent, while the holding index decreased by 0.39 percent. Among the sector indices, financial leasing factoring gained the most with 3.57 percent, while banking suffered the highest loss. Global markets are experiencing a mixed trend with developments related to uncertainties about the US’s protectionist trade stance and geopolitical tensions. Analysts pointed out that the domestic data agenda is calm in the afternoon, while durable goods orders in the US will be monitored abroad, mentioning that technically, the support levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,600 and 9,500 points, with resistance at 9,750 and 9,850 levels.
