The US announced that as of today, an additional 10% tariff will be imposed on goods imported from Canada and Mexico, while the 10% tariff on goods imported from China will also be increased by an additional 10%. In addition, Borsa Istanbul stated that the uptick rule in short selling transactions for shares included in the BIST 50 index will continue today. Analysts expressed that today, domestically the real effective exchange rate and the foreign exchange assets and liabilities of firms outside the financial sector, as well as the unemployment rate in the Eurozone internationally, will be monitored. It is noted from a technical perspective that the levels of 10,000 and 10,100 are seen as resistance, while 9,800 and 9,700 points are considered support for the BIST 100 index.
