Stock market started the new week with a 0.26% increase

The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the new week in the green. At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose by 0.26% or 28.41 points to reach 10,869.00 points compared to the previous closing. The banking index increased by 0.21% while the holding index gained 0.72%. Among the sector indices, construction showed the highest increase by 1.10%, while mining experienced the biggest loss at 1.78%. In the domestic market, the BIST 100 index closed Friday with a 1.05% gain at 10,840.59 points, following a buying trend. Global markets highlight a positive trend, with data indicating inflation remains under control in the US and China implementing new economic stimulus measures. Additionally, a new rule for short selling transactions was announced for stocks in the BIST 50 index during today’s session. Analysts mentioned that budget balance domestically and retail sales data along with the New York Fed manufacturing index will be monitored internationally. From a technical standpoint, they noted that the BIST 100 index faces resistance at 10,900 and 11,000 points, and support levels at 10,800 and 10,700.
