Stock market started the week with an increase

The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the week with a 0.80% increase, at 9,456.17 points. At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose by 75.22 points and 0.80% to reach 9,456 points compared to the previous closing. The banking index gained 1.12%, while the holding index increased by 0.76%. Among the sector indices, the financial leasing factoring sector gained the most at 1.31%, while sports lost the most at 0.19%. Following a buying-focused trend on Friday, the BIST 100 index closed the day with a 0.45% gain at 9,380.95 points in Borsa Istanbul. In global markets, there is a positive trend due to statements indicating that certain technology products imported to the US will not be subject to reciprocal tariffs, but existing tariffs, and increased optimism regarding negotiations. Meanwhile, domestically, focus on the first trading day of the week will be on balance of payments data, with economists surveyed by AA Finans expecting a $4.325 million deficit in the current account for February. Economists predict that the current account deficit will be $21.970 billion by 2025. Analysts noted that the balance of payments in the country will be monitored today, while internationally, the data agenda is calm, and technically, the BIST 100 index has resistance at 9,600 and 9,700 points, and support at 9,400 and 9,300 levels.
